Article “Time for a new gender- equality playbook”

13 february 2017

McKinsey & Company – February 2017

Gender equality is a priority for most CEOs, but their companies fall short and gender outcomes across the largest companies are not changing. Gender inequality in the workplace results to be so persistent despite growing attention from business leaders and the media.
McKinsey & Company’s survey conducted by with LeanIn.Org shows that the CEO fall short in translating top-level commitment into a truly inclusive work environment.

The main findings of the survey reveal that employees don’t think CEOs have a plan for making progress toward gender equality, don’t see those words backed up with action, don’t feel confident calling out gender bias when they see it, and don’t think frontline managers have gotten the message.

In order to face these challenges and change the fabric of everyday work life the survey argues that there is the need to rewrite the gender playbooks by encouraging relentless execution, fresh ideas, and courageous personal actions.
